Perhaps one of the coolest looking cards, Boreas Rush Royale can be played in a variety of decks. After extensive testing (335 games) with my humble level 9 Boreas, I have compiled a list of the best decks for PvP (in my opinion). Save time and beat the competition with them!
You can also try them in Co-Op dungeons, of course.

Decks with √√√ have screenshots included below. You may click on an underlined heading to see the screenshots.
To one side, I added the total amount of damage dealt during the battle. The M is for millions. Some decks do not rely solely on damage to win, for example those with Sharpshooter, Witch or Shaman.
The plus “+” sign means that I won the game, so it has potential to do more damage. I tested hundreds of Boreas Rush Royale deck variations, but these had the best results.

Boreas Rush Royale, Talents
I have highlighted in bold the level 9 Boreas talent Second Breath that I used for the decks on this page.
The Grindstone talents I used for many of these decks is RLL. I later switched to Grindstone RLR, where we should have at least 3 connected Grindstones at all times.
Team Volley (level9, left side)
When merging, all Boreas enter the second phase. The interval for triggering of the other phases is not reset.
Second Breath (level 9, right side)
With a 35% chance, the transition to the second phase is reactivated.
Sleep Arrows (level 11, left side)
Activation of the second phase with a 20% chance will fire two arrows at enemy units, slowing their attack by 25% for 10 s in PvP and increasing attack speed in Co-Op.
Shower of Arrows (level 11, right side).
Activation of the second phase with a 30% chance will unleash a shower of arrows at the monsters, dealing 200 damage. The damage from this attack depends on the merge rank of the unit and is always critical damage.
Doublet (level 13, left side)
Every third switching by Boreas to the second phase allows him to attack an additional target, until the end of the phase.
Precise Shooting (level 13, right side)
Every third switching by Boreas to the second phase increases his damage by 100%, until the end of the phase.
Force of Wind (level 15)
With a 30% chance, upon entering the first phase, Boreas receives a shield against negative effects until the end of the second phase. There’s a 30% chance that moving into the second phase will speed up monsters on the opponent’s field by 30%. In Co-op mode, it will slow down the monsters.
Boreas PvP Tips & Info
Boreas Rush Royale general tips
- Try to have all your Boreas next to a Grindstone. It will take practice before you can do this consistently if you don’t run Portal Keeper.
- Try to have all your Jay hero tiles occupied with a Boreas (if you run him).
- I recommend making big merges to the sides of the board, but next to a Grindstone. If you get something you don’t want, it will be out of the way.
- Try to have several high rank, connected Grindstones and Boreas for the late game. The more and bigger, the better.
- First use Dryad to upgrade your units, then use Scrapper. If you have them in your deck, of course.
- You can try to make big Boreas/Grindstones/etc… by merging other units.
- Remember to wear your best PvP equipment.
Other units tips
- Grindstone is your main source of damage, at max level it did way more than my Boreas during testing.
- We should have at least 3 connected Grindstones at all times if we use the RLR talents. Preferably smack in the middle of the board.
- Bombardier stuns enemies.
- Chemist weakens enemies so we can eliminate them faster.
- Executioner finishes off damaged enemies when they have low HP.
- Trapper temporarily weakens and slows the enemies with his traps. He can keep you alive while the Virus wears off.
- Sharpshooter stuns your opponent’s units after he kills a mini or main boss.
- Sword buffs your units’ damage and critical chance. It can also debuff your enemy’s units. An awakened/active Sword (level 9+) will automatically apply its effect every 15 seconds (with the correct talent).
- Harlequin is great for copying Sword, Dryad, etc…
- Bear in mind that without Keeper, it can be tough to set up and connect your Grindstones in the middle.
- Try to have a Portal Keeper of equal rank to move/cleanse our biggest Boreas/Grindstone. At higher ranks, this is not that easy to do.
- If you run Scrapper, always keep a rank 1 on the board during the late game.
- You should leave enough Cauldrons on board to maintain a steady flow of mana (if you run it). If you have too much mana, or need the space, you can merge some or all of them. Avoid having big Cauldrons on special tiles if you can.
Opponent and other tips
- If your opponent has Witch, try to keep your Grindstones (and Boreas) lowish in rank in case they get hit by the negative effect. They will be easier to merge.
- Wait a few waves for your opponent to send a lot of Swords/Witches/Shaman/etc… before making your final setup and units. They should run out of gas fast.
- If we lack Scrapper, we should fill the board with units to soak up any negative effects like Pudding, Dark Priest, Warlock, Assassin, Lion, Witch, Sword, Sharpshooter, Shaman, etc…
- Be wary of the Dark Priest boss and an opponent’s Witch effect. Portal Keeper can help with this.
- You might want to immediately merge the unit that gets hit by the Virus boss, if you don’t have a Portal Keeper. The Virus is terrible for a full board. A slowing unit such as Trapper or Bombardier can keep you alive until the Virus effect wears off. Also, you can leave gaps in your board to slow down the Virus spread.
- Rank 1 units are very weak, and can be easily removed by negative effects. Rank 2 units are not much stronger, but will at least survive the Tribunal boss effect.
- Remember that your opponent’s equipment can affect you. You can click on your opponent’s hero to see their equipment.
- Don’t mana rank up weak units (rank 1-2). The lower their rank, the less effect it has.
- Save a lot of mana before making risky changes to your board. For example, when you disconnect your Grindstones, or when you merge a Boreas that received a negative effect.

Final Thoughts
I always disliked this card because it seemed weaker than the other legendary cards. I would trade it for a crystal every time, and that is why it is only level 9! However, after playing 335 games with Boreas Rush Royale for this content, I have grown to appreciate it.
Boreas Rush Royale is not the strongest legendary card out there, but it can be a lot of fun to play, due to its superior attack speed.
While playing Boreas, I discovered to my surprise that it works very well with Grindstone. Grindstone actually did much more damage than Boreas during my testing.
