Did you just start to play this game and/or are having trouble with the bosses? There are plenty of good weapons in Vampire Survivors, but not many can focus damage and take out a boss quickly. On this page, I have listed the 5 best beginner Vampire Survivors Weapons to defeat them!
As a beginner, we need all the help we can get with tough enemies like the Vampire Survivors bosses. With lots of health and lethal damage potential, we must dispose of them asap. If we take too long, then the waves of normal enemies can become an issue. Additionally, we are against the clock and need the chest drops/rewards to upgrade our weapons and/or passive items before we get overrun.
It’s a good idea to have at least one of these weapons to help you defeat the bosses, and for a smoother stage run, you should probably include two or three of them in your build.

1. Best Beginner Vampire Survivors Weapons for Bosses: Knife
Knife is the best beginner weapon for eliminating bosses due to its focused damage in one direction. Also, because we can direct the damage where we need it. I run away from the boss a bit, then quickly turn and face it to deal Knife damage. Hold position until the boss draws near, then repeat.
As with most weapons, the more you upgrade it, the stronger it is. You can position yourself near a wall or object for some protection from the regular mobs while you dispose of the boss.
Knife is also great for cutting through a wall or even a sea of enemies! Because of these reasons, I usually try to include Knife in my builds.
Evolution: Knife + Bracer = Thousand Edge.
Best passive items (buffs): I recommend running this weapon with Candelabrador(+area), Empty Tome(-cooldown) and/or Spinach(+damage). Candelabrador will make your knives look bigger on the screen, and it will be easier to hit the bosses and other enemies.
Another good passive item for Knife is Duplicator(+amount).
2. Best Beginner Vampire Survivors Weapons for Bosses: Magic Wand
Magic Wand is probably the easiest starting weapon for a beginner to play because it attacks your nearest enemy. When dealing with a boss, you must try to be near it at all times, just be careful not to let the boss touch you. I recommend you run circles around the boss while doing damage with Magic Wand. This way you stay out of danger and are ready when the chest drops.
Evolution: Magic Wand + Empty Tome = Holy Wand.
Best passive items (buffs): Empty Tome(-cooldown) Spinach(+damage) and Duplicator(+projectiles). Empty Tome is one of the best passive items in Vampire Survivors because it allows your weapons to attack faster.
Other good passive items for Magic Wand are Bracer(+speed) and Candelabrador(+area).
Magic Wand and its evolution, Holy Wand fall off in damage in the later phases of a stage, so make sure you include some heavy hitting weapons to make up for that in the late game.
3. King Bible
Although King Bible is slow to build up, it’s good for eliminating bosses once you have several projectiles spinning around you. We want to position ourselves in range so that the Bibles are hitting the boss. This allows us to run away or in circles around a boss to defeat it. This is one of the beginner Vampire Survivors weapons that also keeps the normal mobs at bay, which is why it’s a great option for many of your builds.
Evolution: King Bible + Spellbinder = Unholy Vespers.
Best passive items (buffs): Candelabrador (+area), Spellbinder (+duration) and Bracer (+speed). Spellbinder is not that great because it doesn’t buff several of the other weapons, but it is very good for keeping King Bible up and spinning around you.
Some other helpful passive items for King Bible are: Spinach(+damage), Empty Tome(-cooldown) and Duplicator(+projectiles).
4. Best Beginner Vampire Survivors Weapons for Bosses: Santa Water
Santa Water and its evolution La Borra are the best beginner weapon for damage in the late game. Therefore, we can use it against all the bosses too. Just lead a boss onto the Santa Water/La Borra ground area circles for high damage.
Evolution: Santa Water + Attractorb = La Borra. As I have stated in other blog posts, in my opinion, Attractorb is the best beginner passive item in Vampire Survivors. This makes Santa Water and its evolution a staple in most of my builds.
Another great aspect of this weapon is the amount of passive items that buff it. Its best passive items (buffs) are: Empty Tome (-cooldown), Candelabrador (+area) and Spellbinder (+duration).
A couple of other helpful passive items are: Spinach(+damage) and Duplicator(+projectiles).
5. Pentagram
Pentagram is also great at defeating bosses in the middle and late phases of a stage. It pretty much deletes everything on the screen. I have it at No.5 on this list because in the early game it’s not so good, since it can also delete chests and other much needed drops. Because of this, if you want to include it in your build I recommend leaving Pentagram for last, and level it up as soon as possible once you have it. Preferably, you want to do this before eliminating bosses, so that you may keep the items that drop.
The Luck stat will give Pentagram a better chance to not delete the items that drop from the enemies on screen.
We need to combine Pentagram with the Crown passive item if we want to evolve it into Gorgeous Moon. This evolution is powerful and also convenient since it clears the screen (even most bosses) and immediately sends all the visible drops towards your character.
The best passive items (buffs) for Pentagram are: Empty Tome(-cooldown) and Clover (+luck).
